A World-Leading Award
At Southern International School, we are proud to offer students the opportunity to participate in the Bronze level of The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award, one of the world's leading youth development programmes. The Award encourages young people to challenge themselves, develop new skills and gain valuable experiences beyond the classroom. Through a balanced programme of activities, students build confidence, resilience, independence and leadership skills while making a positive contribution to their communities.
The Four Sections
At SIH, students work towards the Bronze Award — an exciting opportunity to develop new interests, take on challenges and demonstrate commitment beyond their academic studies. The Award is divided into four sections.
Skills That Last a Lifetime
Participation in the Award helps students develop essential life skills that are highly valued by universities and employers, including teamwork, communication, problem-solving, perseverance, leadership and self-management. The Award also provides valuable evidence of a student's dedication, initiative and willingness to contribute to their community, helping them stand out in university, college and future employment applications.
